Mount Rinjani, with an elevation of 3,726 meters, is Indonesia’s second-highest volcano. It lies on Lombok Island in West Nusa Tenggara. There are two official trekking entry points: Senaru Village and Sembalun Village. Our basecamp and office are located in Senaru, which means your trip is handled directly by a local organizer.

📍 Starting Point

We will pick you up from any location on Lombok Island, including:

  • Lombok Airport
  • Kuta Lombok
  • Bangsal
  • Senggigi
  • Selong Belanak
  • Sekotong
  • Other agreed locations

You’ll be taken to Senaru Village (our office) or another meeting point such as Senggigi, the Gilis, or Kuta, depending on the arrangement before trekking.

✅ End Point

Once the trek is finished, you will be dropped off at your next destination on Lombok, including the airport. We will meet you and give you directions before you depart from Senaru Village.

✈️ Getting to Lombok

You can enter and leave Lombok via Lombok International Airport, which serves as both the arrival and departure gateway.

From Bali to Lombok:

The most efficient route is by fast boat departing at 9:00 AM. You’ll arrive around 11:00 AM at Bangsal Port or Kodek Bay, and reach Senaru Village by approximately 12:30–13:00. This schedule allows you to enjoy the bonus trip we provide.
Taking the ferry is possible but slower (4–5 hours), plus a 3–4 hour drive from Lembar Port to Senaru.

If you choose to fly from Bali to Lombok, you will typically land around 11:25 AM, followed by a 3–4 hour drive to Senaru from the airport.

🕒 Best Time to Arrive

We highly suggest arriving one day before your trek, as all Rinjani trekking programs begin in the morning. Coming earlier gives you time to:

  • Rest and recover
  • Prepare equipment without rushing
  • Avoid trekking under the strong sun when crossing the savannah of Sembalun

Starting from Sembalun in the morning also helps minimize exposure to heat.

⚠️ Important Departure Note

When scheduling your outbound trip from Lombok after trekking, make sure the time aligns with your trek itinerary. This prevents issues like:

  • Rushing to the airport
  • Missing your flight
  • Unnecessary stress after the trek
